Sports And Scout Federation (SSF)

Our Course

Sports And Scout Federation SSF, is established with the mission of overall development of children and youth to make them a better person and citizen. Apart from academic education every children must get exposure to other activities as well. Our motto is to provide “best of the opportunities” to all students in their endeavour to make India a strong nation. Activities relating to sports and physical education are essential components for human resource development. It helps to promote good health, comradeship and a spirit of friendly competition, which in turn, has positive impact on the overall development of personality. This leadership can guide India towards a greater achievement. Similarly, excellence in sports enhances the sense of achievement, national pride and patriotism. Sports also provide beneficial recreation, improve productivity and foster social and cultural harmony and discipline.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Ministry of Human Resource Development have been continuously emphasizing the significance of sports, games, scouts guides, physical and health education for the overall development of children. In the National Sports Policy, 2001, high priority is accorded to the development of sports in the rural areas to harness the available unknown talents and potential. In this context, the Village Panchayats/Gram Sabhas as well as rural youth and sports clubs will be mobilised to facilitate development of the requisite infrastructure and for the identification of talent through an appropriate competition structure in the rural areas as also in the disadvantaged and remote parts of the country which appear to merit special consideration under various schemes including for the North East. There has been a strong tradition of indigenous and traditional games in practically all parts of the country through ages. Indigenous games are being promoted through schemes related to rural sports & Northeast Sports Festival.

Sports And Scout Federation SSF will provide the right opportunities for our youth, the future of this country, to make them physically and mentally stronger. We will work in collaboration with the Private and Government Schools to promote Scouts and Guide, Sports, Yoga, Meditation and Self Defence to achieve its purpose of developing young people physically, intellectually, socially, and spiritually.

We are working to tap hidden talents for participation in sports events at the national and international levels which requires adequate attention and nourishment of capable students at village and district level. Towards the endeavour, we are introducing several schemes to tap the hidden talents in the schools by introducing various options of scouting, guiding, sports, self defence, yoga and meditation.

Scouting & Guiding

Scouting was founded in India in 1909 as an overseas branch of the Scout Association and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1938. Guiding in India started in 1911 and was amongst the founder members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1928. “The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.” A guide is a person who leads students to their goals, travellers or tourists through unknown or unfamiliar locations. The term can also be applied to a person who leads others to more goals such as knowledge or wisdom.

Every citizen of India should be able to think clearly, take quick and proper decisions, be alert and develop an attitude to be of held to others. Under proper training and guidance right from childhood, these qualities can be nurtured in children to make them mature and responsible citizens in life. Scouting and Guiding - which is an international movement - intends to inculcate in the young boys and girls a spirit of loyalty, patriotism and thoughtfulness for others. Scouting in terms means building confidence and self-esteem within, learning important life skills and leadership skills, team building, outdoor adventure, education, and much fun. Scouting is open to all without difference of origin, race, class, or creed, providing that the person voluntarily adheres to Scouting's Principles.

The Conference of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of States held on 18.11.2011 unanimously passed the following Resolution: “Games and Sports should be introduced compulsorily as part of curriculum of education in schools at all levels both in Centre and States. Further, one period each day should be allocated for Games and Sports in all schools. The students’ participation should be graded and evaluated at par with other subjects and adequate weightage should be given to participation in Games and Sports. This will encourage sports culture and broad-base Games and Sports.”

Sports are recognised as an essential element of learning through physical activities and games. These activities have been a great motivator to enhance the spirit of learning and leadership, especially amongst the rural children. Sports and Scouts Federation is aimed to revolutionize grassroots sports in India. Through our collaborative program, Sports and Scouts Federation is committed to ignite a passion to explore and enjoy sports in millions of youth. Our programme promotes health, fitness and an active lifestyle through sports and games, and teaches the values of the game such as teamwork, sacrifice, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship. We are working at village and district level schools to promote sports like Kabbadi, Football, Volleyball, Kho Kho, and Athletics as sports.

Yoga and Meditation

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness. Yoga has been introduced in India since pre-Vedic times. This has remained a part of the lifestyle of the Indians from the years. Yoga is an important part of Indian culture and civilization in which there are properties of both physical elements of humanity and spiritual uplift. This is the ideal combination of knowledge, karma and devotion. Maharishi Patanjali's contribution to India is important; he has codified and organized yoga postures or practices in the Yoga Sutras.

People usually never thought of meditation, Yoga and studying all together in the same sentence, but they are interrelated. Yoga and meditation if practised regularly may yield very good results among the students , which can be fighting depression, anxiety etc. which would prove to be beneficial to the students in a long run. Yoga improves physical as well as mental health of an individual while meditation provides peace of mind and control over the body. Our organization is working with the latest techniques of meditation to improve student’s life like Mid Brain Activation. The mid brain is a one of the parts of the brain whose main function is to coordinate communication of auditory, motor and visual signals Mid brain activation is a program designed to train and furnish kids with abilities to understand and perceive visual objects without seeing. The children can be trained to be as good as being able to read faster, with better concentration even when they are in blindfolds.

The Key Benefits noticed in children’s as per feedback of Parents are improved Concentration, able to listen instructions more clearly and precisely, develop emotional stability , Great reduction in stubborn behaviour and Able to recall things easily and memory increases, More attentive, alert and reduction in laziness. We will conduct practice classes weekly and check performance of child with respect to its memory, concentration and also keep discussing child performance to his parents.

Self Defence

The ability to protect oneself physically from harm is a basic human right that should be accessible to everyone, including children. Self-defence is an often overlooked skill in today’s society, but it is of utmost importance. In an age when the bullying epidemic in school is a huge problem, it is important to ensure that our children can defend themselves if the need arises.

Self-defence not only allows children to tangibly defend themselves against physical attacks, it also sparks various benefits to them in everyday life. Important values and principles can be learned, such as hard work, dedication, and perseverance, as well as the importance of maintaining personal relationships.

Martial arts teach self-defence and much more. There are so many benefits that children can pick up from martial arts, that it definitely becomes something you should consider for your child. Children go through many stages of development, so it is best that you make sure your child is exposed to the correct principles of self-defence.

Every activity in school life plays a significant role in development of students. Our organization has designed Co-Curricular activities in such a way that they are balanced with academic curriculum so that every student gets to learn beyond subjects.
